Boeing is appointing a new CEO for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, effective immediately. This was officially announced by the company on Tuesday.

Stan Deal is now replacing Kevin McAllister as president and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the American commercial aircraft manufacturer.

This announcement comes less than two weeks after Boeing’s Board of Directors decided to remove the chairman role from Dennis A. Muilenburg, CEO of Boeing. Muilenburg remains company CEO amid the ongoing 737 MAX crisis.

The CEO roles for Boeing and Boeing Commercial Airplanes are two separate positions. The Chief Executive of Boeing (currently Muilenburg) is responsible for the entire group, while newly appointed Stan Deal is responsible for the commercial airplane branch.

Today’s announcement included further leadership changes at the American company. Stan Deal previously served as CEO of Boeing Global Services, this role will now be taken up by Ted Colbert. Vishwa Uddanwadiker succeeds Colbert as Chief Information Officer (CIO).
