North American regional airline SkyWest has placed an order for 60 Embraer E175 aircraft, with options for an extra 50. SkyWest is the world’s largest operator of the Embraer E175, with a total of 263 of the type in service.
SkyWest operates these aircraft for the regional subsidiaries of the legacy US carriers, such as Delta Connection, American Eagle, Unites Express and Alaska Airlines. It also owns and flies a fleet of Bombardier CRJ aircraft, across the CRJ200, 550, 700 and 900 models, which are also used for the same business model.
