Irish low-cost carrier Ryanair and Boeing have announced an order for up to 300 Boeing 737 Max 10 aircraft. Worth over US$40 billion at list prices, the deal includes 150 firm orders with a further 150 options for the type and is the airline‘s largest ever order by value and volume.

The two companies have been negotiating this order for a few years now, with Ryanair pausing the talks in 2021 over high prices but resuming them earlier this year. Deliveries to the airline will run from 2027 to 2033 and the aircraft will be equipped with 228 seats in an all-Economy layout.

Ryanair already operates over 100 Boeing 737 Max 8-200 aircraft and its CEO Michael O‘Leary commented on this new order: “We expect half of this order will replace older NGs while the remaining 150 aircraft will facilitate controlled, sustainable growth to just over 300m guests per annum“ indicating his commitment to confirm the additional options at a further date.
