Alaska Airlines has placed an order for 8 Embraer E175 and Porter has ordered an additional 20 E195-E2 aircraft.
The orders were announced in a combined press conference on the second day of the Farnborough International Airshow. Alaska’s order, which is worth $1.12bn at list prices, is a firm order for 8, with options for a further 13, which join the 72 existing Embraer E175s that are operated for Alaska by Horizon Air and SkyWest.
Canadian airline, Porter has ordered an additional 20 Embraer E195-E2s, adding to its existing order for 30, the first of which are still yet to be delivered. Again, at list prices, Porter’s order is worth $1.56bn. Porter currently operates a fleet of 29 Dash 8 Q400s.
