Luxembourg-based cargo airline Cargolux has unveiled a new special livery. One Boeing 747 aircraft is now wearing a face mask.

The carrier painted the mask on the ‘nose’ of LX-VCF, one of its Boeing 747-8F. It is the largest aircraft type in its fleet. Cargolux says this is livery “reflecting the airline’s commitment to the fight against Covid-19“.

This unconventional special comes amid the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic. With the livery, Cargolux is encouraging people to wear face masks, covering mouth and nose, to help avoid the spread of a Covid-19 infection.

Its home country Luxembourg, while being small, has been hit relatively hard by the pandemic, compared to surrounding European nations. Several countries are warning against travelling to Luxembourg for this reason.
