Delta Air Lines has announced its first Airbus A220-100 (formerly Bombardier CSeries) routes. Inaugural A220 flights are set to depart on January 31.
From Delta’s hub at New York’s LaGuardia airport (LGA), the brand new aircraft will initially operate on the route to Boston Logan International. In addition to that, the Airbus will fly between LaGuardia and Dallas/Ft. Worth.
Starting in March 2019, Airbus A220 operations will then commence on the Detroit-Dallas/Ft. Worth service.
In April and May 2019, the airline will add the A220 aircraft on its LaGuardia-Houston and Salt Lake City-Dallas/Ft. Worth flights.
Until August 2019, the following routes will also be served by an Airbus A220:
- Minneapolis/St. Paul to Dallas/Ft. Worth (DFW)
- Houston (IAH) to Detroit & Minneapolis/St. Paul
- Houston (IAH) to Salt Lake City
- New York (JFK) to Dallas/Ft. Worth (DFW)
First routes featuring the A220 are available for sale since October 13.
Delta’s first Airbus A220 rolled out of the paint shop in Montreal-Mirabel last month. On October 6, the aircraft conducted its first test flight. Delta will take delivery of its first aircraft later this month. The founding member of the SkyTeam alliance will become the first U.S. airline to operate this aircraft type.
