Delta Air Lines has ordered 25 additional A321neo aircraft from Airbus.
The firm order announced on Thursday evening brings the number of A321neo planes ordered by Delta to 125. An original order for 100 aircraft was placed back in 2017. The airline chose Pratt & Whitney engines to power the A321neo.
“This agreement positions Delta for growth while accounting for the planned retirements of older narrowbody aircraft in our fleet“, comments Mahendra Nair, responsible for Delta’s fleet strategy. Despite the ongoing Coronavirus crisis, Airbus says that the US-based airline is also accelerating deliveries of two A350 and two A330neo long-haul aircraft.
