Egyptair flight MS3100 from Cairo to Belgrade has suffered multiple tire blow-outs on landing at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport (BEG/LYBE) at approximately 4:00 AM (local time). Serbia’s largest airport remained closed for about seven hours.
The Boeing 737-800 (Registration SU-GCO) was unable to vacate the runway after landing. Therefore, several flights had to divert to nearby airports.
There were no passengers on board because the aircraft was being ferried from Cairo to Belgrade to perform a charter-flight later in the day.
The airport eventually reopened at 11:45 AM. However, delays are expected throughout the day.
