Emirates has announced that it will add a new destination in Portugal to its route network. The Gulf airline currently offers a connection between Dubai and the Portuguese capital Lisbon with two flights a day.

In addition to Lisbon, the carrier will start new flights between Dubai and Porto in July 2019. The four times weekly service will be operated by Boeing 777-300ER aircraft in a three class cabin configuration with 360 passenger seats. Furthermore, the new service will enable Emirates SkyCargo to offer up to 18 tonnes of cargo capacity on the flight.

The introduction of this new flight, along with our twice daily Lisbon service, will help meet this growing demand from both leisure and business travellers, as well as provide them with more choice, flexibility and connectivity when travelling to and from Portugal. Tim Clark, President of Emirates

The airport of Portugal’s second largest city is a base for flag-carrier TAP Air Portugal (including its subsidiary TAP Express), as well as for the low-cost carriers Easyjet and Ryanair. There are existing long-haul flights from the city of Porto to several destinations in North America, Latin America and Africa.
