Etihad Airways and Airbus have announced a Letter of Intent (LoI) for seven Airbus A350 freighter aircraft on Wednesday during the Singapore Airshow 2022.

According to Tony Douglas, CEO of Etihad Aviation Group, the addition of the new A350F will play a key role in driving Etihad’s long-term cargo strategy.

Etihad already operates five A350-1000 jets. The current cargo fleet consists of five Boeing 777F aircraft. In the past, Etihad also operated Airbus A300F and A330F. Furthermore, leased Boeing 747 freighters were in service for the airline.

To date, orders and commitments for 29 Airbus A350F aircraft have been signed by five customers, including Air Lease Corporation (ALC) as the launch customer and Singapore Airlines.
