Canadian ultra-low-cost carrier Flair Airlines has taken delivery of its first Boeing 737 Max 8 jet.
The new aircraft features a seat configuration for 189 passengers and will be deployed in Flair Airlines’ route network that includes 19 destinations across Canada.
The Edmonton-headquartered carrier already operates three Boeing 737-800 aircraft in its fleet. Flair Airlines will receive a further twelve Boeing 737 Max jets and one additional Boeing 737-800. Within five years, the airline has the ambition of growing to 50 planes in its fleet.
Flair Airlines leases the 737 Max airplanes from lessor 777 Partners. Earlier this year, the leasing company ordered 24 Boeing 737 Max aircraft and has options for an additional 60 Boeing 737 Max.
