Mexican airline Mexicana de Aviación has placed an order with Embraer for 20 aircraft, consisting of ten each of the E190 E2 and E195 E2.
The state-owned low-cost-carrier was reprised in June 2023 after originally ceasing operations in 2010. It is better known simply as Mexicana, and currently operates a fleet of three Boeing 737-800 to 20 destinations. Mexicana will be the first Mexican operator of the Embraer E2 family of aircraft when deliveries begin in 2025.
The airline has said that it will operate the E190 E2 in a 108 seat configuration, with the larger E195 E2 having 132 seats, both in a single-class configuration.
