Qantas Airways has placed an order for the new Airbus A321XLR during the week of Paris Air Show 2019.
In a statement early on day three of the airshow, Airbus announced that Qantas has converted 26 of its order of 50 Airbus A321neos to the newly announced A321XLR type, whilst also placing an additional order for ten more, for a total of 36 of the aircraft.
Airbus announced the A321XLR on the first day of the show, with an increased range of 4,700nm / 8,700km, over the standard A321neo’s range of 3,700nm / 6,850km. The new variant is scheduled to enter service in 2023.
