Greek airline Sky Express has signed a firm order with aircraft manufacturer Airbus for brand new A320neo jets.
The Athens-based carrier ordered four A320neos, which will be powered by CFM-International Leap-1A engines. Additionally, Sky Express leases two A320neos from ACG Aviation Capital Group. In total, the regional airline acquires six Airbus A320neo airplanes to modernize and expand its fleet.
Currently, the carrier operates a fleet of ATR 42-500 and 72-500 turboprop aircraft on domestic routes within Greece. The airline’s hubs are located in Athens, as well as Heraklion on the island of Crete and Thessaloniki, the country’s second-largest city. In the coming years, it plans to expand its European network with the newly ordered A320neo jets.
