Air Astana, the flag carrier of Kazakhstan, has received its first of five Embraer E190-E2 jets. The aircraft is registered as P4-KHA and was ferried from Brasil to Kazakhstan last week.
To draw global attention to the threat of extinction of the snow leopard, which is native to the mountain ranges in southern Kazakhstan, the brand new jet wears a special Air Astana ‘Snow Leopard‘ livery.
The new generation Embraer E190-E2 aircraft will replace older E190s in the fleet. The airline currently operates a fleet of nine Embraer E190 aircraft, with the first aircraft having entered service in 2011.
