Indian regional carrier Flybig and De Havilland announced an order for twelve Twin Otters at the Paris Air Show. This deal includes two DHC-6-400 and ten of the newly launched DHC-6 Twin Otter Classic 300-G.
Flybig will be the launch customer of both variants in India and plans to use these small aircraft to further develop its network on UDAN routes (UDAN is the Indian government’s airport and route development program).
Flybig CEO Sanjay Mandavia said: “Our two Series 400 aircraft will help realize [a] vision to connect India’s hinterland”. The airline currently operates a fleet of three ATR72 aircraft to domestic Indian cities.
