Brazilian air carrier GOL and leasing company AerCap have announced a leasing agreement during the first day of this year’s Farnborough International Airshow.

The agreement consists of six Boeing 737-800BCF (‘Boeing converted freighters’) that will be delivered to GOL in 2022 and 2023.

The Brazilian carrier’s logistics business unit GOLLOG will operate the jets on behalf of the Latin-American e-commerce company Mercado Livre under a cargo contract that was signed in April this year.

GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes S.A. currently operates an all-Boeing fleet of 737-700, 737-800 and 737 Max 8 aircraft. In 2023, the airline also plans to add Boeing 737 Max 10 airplanes. The carrier was the first operator of the 737 Max aircraft type after the worldwide grounding.
