Chilean low-cost carrier JetSMART has received its first A320neo this month. The aircraft, registered as CC-AWJ performed its delivery flight from Toulouse to Santiago via Natal on October 5th.

The A320neo is equipped with 186 seats in an all-Economy Class configuration. JetSMART presented the aircraft to the public at a celebration in Santiago on October 10th and also operated a special flight to the city of Calama.

Recently, the carrier has also announced the launch of several new international routes. New routes to Brazil were unveiled a few weeks ago, specifically to Salvador de Bahia, Foz de Iguazu and Sao Paulo Guarulhos. These destinations will be launched at the end of December 2019, on January 3rd and March 20th 2020 respectively.

In another international expansion announced on Tuesday, JetSMART has outlined two routes to Cali and Bogota in Colombia. These routes will launch in the same time frame as the new connections to Brazil, with the first flight to Cali scheduled for December 20th and to Bogota on January 9th.

Additionally, JetSMART will be the first Chilean airline to operate international flights from cities other than Santiago. Flights from Concepcion to Lima are scheduled to begin on December 19th and another route from Antofagasta in the country’s north to Lima will be launched on March 20th.

All of the above mentioned routes will be operated two to three times a week and will all be operated by the carrier’s Airbus A320 and A320neo aircraft. JetSMART will take delivery of a further five A320neo this year and has a total of 55 additional A320neo as well as 26 A321neo on order.
