Silk Way West Airlines from Azerbaijan has signed a purchase agreement with Airbus for two A350F cargo jets.
The airline currently operates Boeing 747-400 and 747-8 freighter airplanes. The new Airbus A350F jets are intended to modernize and further grow Silk Way West Airlines’ existing fleet. Last year, the Baku-based cargo carrier already signed for five Boeing 777F that will be delivered between 2023 and 2027.
To date, six customers have signed orders and commitments for a total of 31 Airbus A350F jets. When the A350 freighter aircraft version was launched in 2021, lessor Air Lease Corporation (ALC) ordered the A350F as the launch customer at the Dubai Airshow.
